Abstract
Returning from his expedition to the future, Sir Richard Francis Burton (1821-1890) brings back with him a plethora of knowledge about technologies that must remain secret so as not to disturb the natural flow of human history. Burton and Algernon Charles Swinburne (1837-1909), however, watch as the Empire’s elite adopts a despotic attitude, using these technologies to remain eternally in power.
