Abstract

José Rodrigues dos Santos’ Sinal de Vida begins in the Vatican with the interruption of the wedding of Tomás Noronha, an acknowledged cryptanalyst, by the Secretary of State of the Holy See due to the discovery accomplished by an astronomical observatory who has detected a 1.42 megahertz radio frequency emission, associated with hydrogen and the possibility of proving the existence of extraterrestrial life, and the later discovery of a mysterious object heading towards the Earth. Consequently, NASA organises an international space mission to intercept the unknown object and Tomás Noronha is called upon to help decipher the extraterrestrial messages. This book provides a detailed description of NASA astronaut training and requirements While also delving into the rising tensions between global powers and the geopolitical conflicts that arise in moments of uncertainty.
