Description
So much of autism support at the moment is centered around helping us adapt to a society that doesn't make space for us. Here I want to imagine what a spacious society would look like instead. Autism inclusion starts with a fairer society in general. Fairer societies are safer and easier places to be different, which removes a lot of the stress of masking autism and the resulting impacts on our wellbeing. Social difficulties communicating with non–autistic people are more likely to be understood generously when people have fewer bad experiences that make them understandably wary of others' intentions” (p. 32)
