Abstract

Isaac Asimov's "The Bicentennial Man" follows Andrew Martin, a robot who starts a 200-year journey toward becoming human. Starting as a household robot, Andrew develops creativity, earns his freedom, and pursues increasingly human characteristics, including an android body. Despite legal battles and societal rejection, Andrew eventually has his brain altered to allow death, convincing the World Legislature to recognize him as human on his 200th birthday.
