dc.description.abstract | on old ships in a dystopian world where oceans have flooded much of the land. During one of his scavenging missions, Nailer nearly drowns in a pool of oil, narrowly escaping. After a devastating storm, Nailer and his friend Pima discover a wrecked clipper with only one survivor, Nita, whom Nailer nicknames “Lucky Girl”. Nita is kidnaped by Nailer’s abusive father, Richard, and her uncle Pyce. Nailer joins the Dauntless crew in a daring chase to rescue her. Eventually, Nailer faces his father in a deadly fight, using his new skills to defeat him and save Nita. The story ends where it began, with the characters reuniting on the beach. | |
