dc.description.abstract"Woman on the Edge of Time" follows Connie Ramos, a Mexican-American woman wrongfully committed to a mental hospital in 1970s New York. Connie communicates with Luciente, a time traveller from a future utopia where gender, class, and race inequalities have been overcome. Torn between this hopeful vision and the oppressive reality of her present—and a dystopian alternative future—Connie ultimately fights back against her captors, risking her life to prevent a future of mind control and oppression.
