dc.description.abstract | The novel follows Sklar Hast - a “Hoodwink”, or semaphore tower operator, who is in conflict with the rules of a stratified society that needs to survive in a marine world after their descendants arrived at a water-covered planet twelve generations ago. They live in villages built on giant sea plants, they managed to survived on the fauna and the flora from the sea, but they are struggling to coexist with a monstrous sea creature know as King Kragen that eats their fish supplies and members of the society. Being recently promoted to “Hoodwink”, Sklar Hast begins his battle to convince his people to fight against this terrible monster, but finds it several obstacles along the way, specially with high superior authorities who are constantly interrupting his plans. | |
