La Planète des singes

Abstract

In “Planet of the Apes” ("La Planète des singes"), a French journalist named Ulysse Mérou travels to the planet Soror, where he finds a society of intelligent apes that rule over primitive humans. After gaining freedom with the help of chimpanzee researchers Zira and Cornélius, Ulysse discovers the apes' rise to power was caused by human laziness, and upon returning to Earth, he is horrified to find it now ruled by apes as well.
