Nazaré: Women helping to haul in fishing boats

Abstract

This photograph shows a group of people pulling ropes in order to haul in fishing boats at the beach in Nazaré. It seems the group is mainly composed of women and children, who are all dressed in dark and traditional clothes. There are some people on the right side of the image, on the background, and two of them seem to be women carrying a basket in their head, a common practice at the time.
