Abstract
Travelling through different planets is now possible and immediate through advanced wayport technology. In this context, a team of scientists goes on a research trip to study a new planet, and exoethnologist Saraswati Callicot, who has spent her life studying new worlds, is recruited and goes along. In this new planet, loaded with dark matter, one of the crewmates is murdered and another one is reported missing. The scientists start investigating these occurrences, and eventually discover that the planet is home to a blind and sentient alien species who communicate with each other through a strange language and extrasensory perception. Sarawasti is deeply touched by these beings, and the novel focuses clearly on how her perspective changes as a result of her contact with the aliens’ culture.
