This photograph shows two different tramcars next to each other on the road. The one on the left is a mechanical tramcar, the "official" one, which is driven by a driver and operated by electricity, and seems to carry several people on the inside. There is a sign that reads "Carro do povo", which translates to "the people's car", and the destination, the neighbourhood Intendente, is written above. The tramcar on the right is operated by two horses and a driver that guides them, and fits less people inside. Its destination is Belém.
