A Campino in the Ribatejo

Abstract

This photograph depicts a "campino", a cattle herder (mainly bulls) in the Portuguese region of Ribatejo. He is dressed in a characteristic way, with a hat, a shirt, and a vest. He seems to be posing for the photo while riding a horse, carrying a "pampilho", a long pole which he uses to manage and direct the herd.
