Abstract

Picking up where Oryx and Crake and The Year of the Flood left off, MaddAddam brings together a shabby group of human survivors who learn how to live in harmony with the Children of Crake and with other genetically engineered creatures, such as pigoons, transgenic pigs developed to grow replacement organs for humans. In addition, the novel reveals a great deal of information about how Glenn, the creator of the BlyssPluss pill virus, went on to become Crake, describing Glenn’s relationship with Zeb, a high-ranking member of the God’s Gardeners who is also a hacker and who is Toby’s lover.
