thing.descriptionBorn and raised in Kingston, Jamaica, Nicole Dennis-Benn (1982-) moved to the United States at the age of seventeen, where she lives with her wife and their two sons. Both her first two novels, Here Comes the Sun (2016) and Patsy (2019), have won several awards, and she is a recipient of the National Foundation for the Arts Grant. Dennis-Benn has also taught in the writing programs at Princeton University, the University of Pennsylvania, NYU, Sarah Lawrence College, and City College.
