dc.description.abstractJosé Maria de Magalhães Pimentel Cochofel was born on June 2, 1870, in Anreade, Resende. He studied law at the University of Coimbra, graduating in 1895, and passed away in the same house where he was born on April 28, 1937. Cochofel was renowned as the most notable guitar soloist during his student years in Coimbra. He composed a waltz titled Três Graças and performed at various musical events. He collaborated with several distinguished musicians and played a diverse repertoire ranging from Coimbra folk tunes to classical works by Rossini, Ganne, and Meyerbeer.
